Chapter On e

“Kim you have to come!” Emma said grabbing my hand across the table and squeezing. “It’s my bachelorette party and you’re my best friend. And besides, you’re the matron of honor. How will that look if you don’t come?”

I sighed at her and shook my head. I knew what this lunch was all about when I accepted. Emma was getting married and I had not RSVP’d to the bachelorette party. She and I as well as pretty much all of the bride’s maids were nurses at a small doctor’s office in downtown Charlotte. That’s where we met. I was the chief nurse and thought of all of them as friends yes, but I had reservations about doing too much partying with them.

“I’ll just… slow you down Emma,” I said and went back to my sandwich.

“Please, it’s not like we’re going to Vegas or anything. It’s just a bunch of friends whooping it up on my last night of freedom. Hell, it’s a night out, you know you need to get away from Sam and the kids for one night.”

“You girls are young; you know I’d just be playing the Debby downer all night.”

“Well, you don’t have to you know. Be young with us. Have a good time. You aren’t ancient you know. What are you, thirty-five right?”

“Forty-one,” I said with a smirk.

“Well see, that’s not that old, and you look great for your age. I’d give anything for tits like yours,” she lied. Her eyes were all big and hoping like a little kid. I could see it meant a lot to her. “Plus, maybe we will need someone to reign us in, I don’t want to get into touch many shenanigans the weekend before tying the knot.”

“We’ll see,” I said and smiled at her.

“That means yes,” Emma said and took a happy sip of her Latte.

“That means, we’ll see,” I said.

Emma and the other girls were half my age for the most part. They were pretty and skinny with perky breasts and good skin and tight little butts. I enjoyed their company, but I knew that in that crowd I would probably stand out like a sore thumb.

Later that day as I was filling out some paperwork, I looked up to see Emma and Dr. Mark in the backroom. Emma had her arms crossed and was arguing with him as quietly as she could.
